Artist of the Month Guidelines

2010 SHOWS

Feb-March Paint Pink Feb 5th and March 5th (people’s choice) Entry day is Jan 31 3-5pm Art must contain some pink. All 2-D items must have a black frame. Artists may enter up to 4 large and 4 small pieces. (LG more than 18", SM less than 18") Art may be replaced when sold.

April-May Promise of Spring April 2nd and May 7th (people’s choice) Entry Date: March 28th*Quilters will be asked to show again in this show Please bring your miniature quilts to be displayed with our 2-D artwork for our April Quilters Exhibit at the gallery. The drop off date for quilt entries at the gallery will be Saturday, March 27th between 11am and 2pm. You will need to fill out an entry form with your name, address and phone number. If your quilt is for sale, list the price on the entry form. The gallery collects all sales and sales tax for purchases. 30% will go to the Topeka Art Guild and we will mail the remaining 70% to your listed address one month after the exhibit. This year we are charging a $10.00 entry fee for a limit of three quilts per artist.

June-July Monochromatic Moods June 4th and July 2nd (inside jurors’ choice) Entry Date: May 30th

Aug-Sept Wild Kingdom Aug 6th and Sept 10thor 3rd (people’s choice) Entry Date: August 1

Oct-Nov Kansans Paint Kansas Oct. 1st and Nov. 5th (outside judges) Entry Date: September 10-12

Dec-Jan Reflections Dec 3rd and Jan 8th 2011 (members’ choice

Entry Date: November 28th

Outside Opportunities:

Rethink Topeka, a one-day art event will take place Saturday, April 17, 2010, downtown to
display the juried and chosen multimedia pieces entered in the event. www.rethinktopeka.com

The Midwest League of Schools Art Day will be held in Alma at the Wabunsee High School.
The Art Day will be on March 3, 2010. Artists will need to give 1 hour long workshops to 18-20
students at a time. If interested, contact Caroline Smith at 785-765-3315, or

Secretary of State Building- Members have the opportunity to show at the Secretary of State
administration offices downtown. (120 SW 10th) This will be an ongoing exhibit that will be
rotated every 4 months. The size of the framed artwork should be approximately 20” x 28” or
smaller. This is preferred due to wall space. They require screw eyes and and wire hanger to
be secure. Sawtooth hangers are not allowed. There will be no commission taken from any
sales. The next rotation will be the end of March 2010. Priority will be given to artists who
enter one of the two next gallery exhibits (Dec/Jan and Feb/March shows). If interested, please

TAG - Artwork Tags
Make sure these are printed on manilla colored card stock for wall displayed  pieces and on white paper for shrink wrapped pieces.
