A Juried Exhibition Celebrating Kansas Art

The Topeka Art Guild invites Kansas artists to show us what the Heartland means to you.

Kansas is more than a place,it is wide-open skies, prairie grasses, changing seasons, small towns, city streets, family, history, farms, wildlife, and the people who call this beautiful state home.

Colors of the Heartland is a juried exhibition celebrating the unique beauty, character, and spirit of Kansas through the eyes of Kansas artists.

THEME

Kansas seen by Kansans

We invite artists to interpret Kansas in their own creative way. Landscapes, people, places, wildlife, architecture, still life, abstract work, or any subject inspired by the Kansas experience are welcome.

1st Place — $300
2nd Place — $200
3rd Place — $100

Awards will be presented during our First Friday celebration on September 4, 2026.

ENTRY FEES

$15 for the first entry
$10 for each subsequent entry

Artists may submit up to 3 entries.

Maximum entry fee for 3 works: $35

Entry fees are non-refundable.

ELIGIBILITY

Open to Kansas artists.

Artwork must be original work created by the submitting artist and must reflect the theme Colors of the Heartland.

All submitted artwork will be reviewed by a jury. Selection for the exhibition is not guaranteed.

By regsitering you AGREE you are giving TAG permission to

1.Photos of my work may be used on the website, on postcards or in brochures for marketing TAG

2. The art will be juried internally or externally depending on the show and that my entry fees are non-refundable.

3. The Topeka Art Guild will take the best care possible of the art, but I understand that sometimes things happen that are unavoidable. Topeka Art Guild is not responsible for any damage to my work while in their care.

4. Commissions are paid to the guild 30% if I work the 12 hours during the two month exhibit, I will receive a 70% commission for sold work. If I do not work the 12 hours during the two month exhibit, The guild will do 45% and I will receive a 55% commission for sold work.

Opportunity for TAG Artists

TAG is pleased to offer artists the opportunity to have their artwork displayed outside of the gallery at local area businesses.

If you agree to have your artwork considered for an outside exhibit, please indicate your interest on the entry form. The Hanging Committee will make every effort to accommodate as many artists as possible; however, artwork selection will depend on the available space and the needs of each participating business. Final selections will be made at the discretion of the Hanging Committee.

Only artwork currently displayed in the TAG Gallery exhibit will be considered for placement at participating businesses.
